Reader’s Oasis Bookstore

I met an interesting man yesterday.  His name is Paul, and he owns Reader's Oasis, the used book store here in Quartzite, AZ.  He's owned the store for well over 20 years.  His store is pretty good sized, with a huge selection of good, used books at cheap prices. He has quite a reputation in town, everybody knows him.  You could say he's a bit of a celebrity.

  

He's a GREAT piano player, and grins happily when someone asks him to play, which he will do with pride.

He reminded me of Steve a little bit, in that he's a bit of a character,… and a bit eccentric. Like Steve, he's quite the story teller, a pretty funny guy. 

Also like Steve, I get the feeling he could be a grumpy old coot if you crossed him.  

(He is 68 years old.)  

You can see he wears a top hat, and smokes a pipe like Steve does.   And like Steve, he doesn't really care what anybody thinks of him - it’s like, "this is me and my store, and if you don't like it you can leave.”

  

But that’s where the similarity ends.

Paul is considerably more eccentric than Steve in that he is also,...

A nudist.  

The city asks him cover his 'package', but other than that, they let him run his business as he sees fit.  

His store is legendary, and very successful. 

He said he's been approached twice about doing a reality tv series, (which I verified online).  He says when/if they reach the right price he'll probably do it, 
butt he's in no big hurry.
