Fallon, Nevada

On the drive down to Fallon, just before Winnemucca, I saw a old landmark.  I had forgotten about it, but recognized it immediately.  Mom and Jodi, I'm sure you both remember....

Shut up Mountain. 

When we lived in Winnemucca, in the 60's, we would drive to Boise to see Grandma Cornwall.  On the drive back, as soon as we got close, Dad would say, "There's Shut up Mountain!"  And us kids couldn't talk the rest of the way home.   I think I believed, (most of my life), that was really the name of this mountain, but it's real name is Bloody Run Peak. 

I'm sure there was something similar somewhere in the Owyhees for the trip INTO Boise, but I don't remember that one.

We didn't drive all the way yesterday, it was just too boring.  

So this is where we pulled over for the night.  

Puckerbrush,...  I love it!  hahaha!!!

We are now in Fallon, where we will stay for the next 2 months.  The RV park here is a nice one.  It has a gas station, convenience store, liquor store, deli, and LP,  all on site.  We've already met another couple that is here to work at Amazon.com for the season.  

Orientation at Amazon is Saturday.  We'll keep you posted.
