We've been in Coeur d Alene, Idaho for a few days.  Stayed at the Tamarack RV Park.  Good price, clean place, good location.

The weather started out partly cloudy, then yesterday turned to rain.  Last night around 10 pm, we had the most amazing lightening storm I've EVER seen.  Rather than waiting a few seconds between lightening strikes, you noticed when there was a few seconds without strikes!  5 or 6 strikes at a time, all around us!  This may be common in the mid-west, but to a western girl, it was WILD!

Here are a few pics from our CDA visit.

Linda and Charley at Coeur D Alene Lake.  We sat and watch float-planes come and go.  Very cool.

CDA Resort & boat slips.  I'm curious what a monthly slip costs here.  Probably over $1,000 a month?

We watched the float-planes take off and land for a while.  (right side of pic)  We thought about buying a ride, because neither of us has ever flown in a float-plane.  But we decided to save our pennies for a helicopter tour of Mt. Rushmore.

HOLY RED GERANIUMS!  There must be $25,000 worth of red geraniums planted around the CDA Resort.  Not exaggerating either.  We counted a small area, multiplied that by approximate square footage, and assumed $1 each for large quantity discount! OH! And every single one was perfectly deadheaded!  Impressive to this plant geek!

Now we're headed north to Bonners Ferry, ID, then east to Libby, MT to see Charley's sister, Teddie.

Coming Soon:  Glacier Park and the Going To The Sun Road.

  1. Love your pictures and your journal. You are seeing some beautiful places. In Montana there s/b pine trees/forests and those are
to be appreciated when you get to flatlands.
